STUDENT travel support

Limited funds are available to support student attendance at MARA 2008.

  • Funds are now likely to be available to assist with travel only, thanks in large part to the Company of Biologists on behalf of the Journal of Experimental Biology.
  • A case for support will need to be made in application for funds which will need to include a signed statement of support from the head of the department (details can be obtained by application to the meeting executive).
  • There is no student support for registration fees beyond the general student rate reduction.
  • In reviewing applications for support, consideration will be given to whether the student is:
    • an indigineous African
    • a citizen and resident of an African nation
    • distance and cost of international travel
    • presenting a paper (poster papers are anticipated) at the meeting
